March Reading Month is an exciting month for students at Madison Elementary School. This year's theme is "Reading Under the Big Top". Each year the staff kicks off National Reading Month with a story book play which is in line with the theme for the month. Our storybook play is "Olivia Saves the Circus".
Madison hosts many activities throughout the month, these activities are:
*Mystery Readers,
*Assembly Programs: Leader Dogs, Carol Johnson, Ronald McDonald, Dance Alliance North, Reading is Fun with Skippy and Dave, Local Author, Norma Stewart
*Special dress up days - Wacky Wednesday, Read a Shirt Day, Read a Button Day, Read a Hat Day

This year's challenge is to read 20,000 books during the month collectively at home and school. For each 1,000 books read a staff member will dress up like a clown and if the students reach the goal of 20,000 books, Mrs. Matson, the Principal will dress up like a clown also and all the "Clowns" will squeeze into a car during the Celebration Assembly.
